Remembering Fr. Bill Calhoun
My brothers in Christ,
It's is hard to believe that so many years have passed since the death of - the first African American priest of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. His anniversary is Friday, January 4. I am suggesting that we keep his death and new life in our prayers, and continue to remember all the deceased clergy of African decent on their anniversary dates.

Also, just in case our deacons did not receive the notice - Fr. Ed Branch's father, Wadsworth Branch, is ill in the hospital in Washington, DC. Peace and Happy New Year!

Prayers For Fr. Reynaldo Taylor & His Family In Mourning
Greetings from Fr. Reynaldo Taylor!
The arrangements for my Dad's Funeral Mass will be Monday Dec. 10, 2007. Visitation 4pm-7pm at Saint Joseph Church. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 7pm.

Archbishop Pilarczyk will be the presider. Homeliest-the Archbishop has asked if someone else could be the homeliest. I have a phone call into Deacon Simmons. If he is not able to be the homeliest could you be it? My third choice would be Father Cross or Father Martin Smith. I will be wait to hear from you.

The burial will be Tuesday afternoon in Cincinnati at the Baltimore Pike Cemetery. In lieu of flower my family has requested that donations should be directed to Saint Joseph Church and School.

Thanks! Rey Taylor

Prayers For Rita McKnight & Her Family In Mourning
Please pray for the repose of the soul of our beloved sister Rita (Dn. Keith's wife) McKnight who died last night after a long and painful battle with cancer. Funeral arrangements are being made at this time and most likely will be Saturday.

Our brother Keith is taking this in the way a loving, devoted husband would (very hard). I talked with him last evening (after I returned from a personal emergency room experience -- all's well), and this morning. He is naturally shaken even after the arduous battle Rita so painfully waged. He is doing fine, but it isn't easy.

I am sorry for notification so late in the day; however, I did spend today in the hospital (in Aurora, IL) having a few tests run -- again, all is well). I will continue to be in contact with our brother Dn. Keith this week.

Shalom, deaconpaul, Sec'y, NBCCC
